COLLISION PROCESS - EP

Keeping this to the point, Collision Process certainly bring the goods when it comes to heavy, head-banging riffs. Offering four unique and worthy tracks for the listeners consideration, Collision Process have escaped the curse of so many acts within this genre, who tend to simple recycle melodies and rhythms throughout their EP’s. I received the band’s music on Valentines Day and having spent time talking to a Sonic Shocks colleague about compiling a lonely hearts mash-up for the site, this gave me every excuse I needed to go and absorb myself in a world of power and angst. On a personal level, I favour the moments where clean vocals are intertwined with the screamo passages; but there is plenty of opportunity for those heavy kids out there to participate in some throat tormenting vocals if they desire. You simply MUST hear all four tracks on this EP to form a genuine and honest opinion, because the band shows their diversity throughout. Where I had been dubious after the first instalment, by the final song, I knew Collision Process were a band to keep an eye on for 2011. A very impressive effort.

8/10
